Made some changes (and found a video that gave me a little more direction) and my second ever loaf of bread turned out great (brag, brag, brag)

Right now I have the third loaf raising - Petey (my little white dog) does not seem too happy with that. He will only get within a couple feet of the table, sniffing the air with eyes wide, and then slinks away to growl and woof at it from a safe distance. Maybe I'll wait until my brother has a couple slices before I try it ...

But I knew exactly how that little boy felt. Because I still remember, word for word, action for action, what my kindergarten teacher did to me. Forty-eight years later, I still get the same sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when the memory rears its ugly little head.

Well, I'm discovering (or rediscovering) that I'm much more at home working outside than in. Yesterday I was clearing rocks from a defunct pond. Today I made my very first attempt at baking bread...let's just say, the two had much more in common than might first be apparent.

My brother, bless his intrepid little soul, did actually eat several slices of my creation. And I admit, once one managed to break through the crust, it wasn't bad. Really.

Trying out the blog thingy. I always have trouble with these because most of what I would write about would probably bore the socks of most people. Writing about life as I know it certainly would. Today was an exception. I had no internet most of the day, so that was exciting. My littlest dog had an infection in her foot, so I had to lance that, then put ointment and a bandage on it, which was made even more interesting by her sinking her teeth into my knuckles and not letting go the entire time....
