Joie de Vivre Part 1-A
Definition: French, meaning a feeling of healthy enjoyment of life. (F= joy of living)
Sometimes it is the smallest or simplest things that can bring an immense feeling of joy to us. If you are like me and appreciate the new trends in flavoured black teas, then perhaps a perfectly brewed cup of strawberry tea at the end of the day, or even middle of the day will create a wonderful and satisfying feeling of “joi de vivre”.
This kind of enjoyment costs a minimum for most of us, and yet can induce a high quality of well -being and happiness in our state of minds. Thus striking a sense of balance in our busy lifestyles.
Joi de vivre can be experienced daily in various endless ways, and you need not be a millionaire to achieve this very noble attitude to living. It’s about enjoying who you are and what you have in the present moment, tout court (French, meaning “plainly and simply”)!
Appreciating and enjoying what we love most in our daily lives, imbues us with an inner glow that can develop a continuing sense of wealth within ourselves. And once realised, nothing and no one can rob us of that inner affluence, presiding in all of us.
