On becoming an author

For sometime I've been thinking about writing a novel. I have taken great inspiration from my favourite author Farley Mowat. I also have taken inspiration from Dirk's autobigraphies as well. My family and friends have encouraged me to write a novel. I've already completed six chapters. I'd really like to hear from any of you who are authors or those who'd like to become one.

Celebrities ARE people too

I have had this on my mind for quite a while. For me Celebrities ARE people too. It amazes me that when someone becomes a public figure some people make the assumption that their privacy is not their's anymore. I say "NOT SO!" Those people have a right to separate their public persona and their private lives. They're people just like you and me. Don't we all have our public persona that we project to people that we don't know really well and our private side? I know I do.

My very first Christmas

I came across this photo that my Mother kept. In this photo my parents are teaching me a German Christmas carol. I was one year old at the time. I don't remember that time, I was too young, but it gave me a really warm feeling.

I came across this photo of my Mother and me. This was taken at Christmas in the late 80's. I'm going to have this photo restored. My Mother had a really kind heart and people were always drawn to her. I really miss her. I feel that she's with me in spirit and lives on in my heart and in my thoughts.

Tis the season

I can't believe it's that time of the year again.

I'm grateful for my family, friends and my pets. For me the greatest gift is being with my family and friends. Not store bought presents.
True friends who are honest, loyal and true.
That's I value most in a friend.
People who treat people with courtesy and respect and those who don't judge others and are kind and caring. Those are the people who have the true spirit of Christmas.
