LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Give speech, eat veggies, contemplate immortality... Check.

Posted 09-20-2017 at 10:03 PM by Ludlum'sDaughter14

Things never seem to go quite how you plan them. That's why when I give a speech (for my major, I give many), even though I'll have anything from a couple key words to a full numbered outline with citations up there with me, I still like to wing it to an extent. I go into it expecting to say certain things, but the moment often brings more clarity or better ways to connect with the audience. Often (like today) I fear I may have sacrificed any professional ethos with my casual, interactive style...

Quantum Physics, Chocolate, and the Incarnation

Posted 09-14-2017 at 10:35 PM by Ludlum'sDaughter14

Today I got a taste of quantum physics for science class. Apparently protons can act like particles and waves at the same time. And they can be in a state of "not-thereness" that lets them phase through something they would normally bounce off of when in particle mode. It's so crazy to imagine that there are parts of matter that can be there and not there at the same time, and all sorts of other conditions normal objects never inhabit. Or do they?

I've been feeling...

Not All That Is Raw Can Be Cooked

Posted 09-11-2017 at 10:08 PM by Ludlum'sDaughter14

Okay, it's been a week since I last posted. A crazy week. This is the first semester when I'm taking only five classes instead of six, and the first semester I think I'll still like all of them by the end. But all of them require extensive reading assignments, so I've been spending my afternoons and evenings with my textbooks for company. Still getting used to time management on the new schedule. I arrive to almost every class within seconds of the bell. (Then again, what else is new?)

Moving Day - Part 4

Posted 09-11-2017 at 05:14 AM by Vballspieler

It's finally here. My own place. Away from my family. Life is getting more and more peaceful. Bought new dishes, pans, and supplies for my apartment. Other than Tuesday being a really long day, I'm looking forward to experimenting with my meals after work.
End of summer. Beginning of fall. Ending a toxic relationship with my siblings and appreciating my wonderful friends.
Read Kristina's blog. It's been 11 months since I joined. A lot has changed. Some very wonderful; others...

Seasons of Love

Posted 09-04-2017 at 07:23 PM by Ludlum'sDaughter14

It's been about a year since I joined DBC. I can't believe everything that has happened, all the ways I've changed and grown, and all the experiences I've had and people I've grown close to. I could go on, but I've said it all before in a hundred ways. Let me just say that I am blessed in the life I'm living and the friends I love. It's been a good year.

Regarding my MB journey, the goal for this week is to keep up my vegetable intake. I've already noticed a difference in energy....
