Life without men
It's amazing what stem cell research will produce.
Here's an article from bbc news, and some quotes which I found amusing ...

"Women have always known that men are a bit of a waste of space … Now British scientists have proved how unnecessary blokes truly are by creating the first human sperm from stem cells. And as if that's not a big enough problem for fellas everywhere, the expert behind this revolutionary move is a man."
"men are redundant but worth keeping for menial tasks"

Ah, but can a stem cell keep you - ahem - warm at night?

Just wait until they figure out how to build an artificial womb - then they won't need either gender... oh - wait...
![]() I don't understand all this research into artificial reproduction anyway. It's not like there aren't enough abandoned, abused or neglected kids in the world needing parents. |

Thanks for the comments ladies.
I think I read somewhere the scientists doing this research weren't interested in alternative reproductive arrangements, but to understand male fertility issues. With this method they can make meiotic (sperm) cells with different problems (eg motility) and then see if they can eleviate (alleviate?) those problems. It's a living I suppose? |
