30th Anniversary

Well another August is upon us....for me & my Larry is means a month of celebrating our love story
....it is #30 this year and we are at this moment at a loss for how to celebrate
....long story short 2 plans we had fell thru and now we are in search of the perfect plan
...for those who do not know us perfect for us is not always perfect for others
....lets see what some of the other ones were like:
5th...goofy night of waiting for a delivery and eating kabobs made by my parents....Larry killed the cooler...don't ask
10th...hot dogs on the Seminary lawn....we had them announce it and we partied with the kids
15th...the famous B&B that turned out to be "haunted"...and the hottest day on record in this part of Kentucky
20th....we threw a party to celebrate that we had no idea why we left our home in Colorado and what were we doing in Kentucky...what fun to mix people together from our past and present....strange party but the family had fun
25th...one of our favorites....wilderness camping in our mountains outside Durango, Colorado....the site overlooked where we lived when we got married
30th....TBA
and there you have it....there has been lots of living in those 30 years....great times....some happy some sad but we would not change any of them....they are ours and we celebrate each and every one of them

First - congratulations! That's a huge milestone
![]() Suggestions? Ever gone on a Mississippi River paddle wheel boat? Not quite "roughing it" as your other 'adventures' appear to be, but I always thought it would be a great way to see some countryside ![]() |

...thanks for the idea
We have a real old fashion steam paddle wheel boat here on the Ohio River....it is one of only a few remaining paddle wheels still running.....We have taken it many times....and yes it is a great way to see the sights....our boat races the other remaining ones each year during the Derby Festival...they are brought in from the Mississippi ....we have also taken a few river rides on the Green River near Mammoth Cave in paddle wheels funny we had one of the few remaining narrow gauge steam train in our town when we lived in Durango ....guess we are drawn to places with old school transportation ....we are the kind of people that when we live somewhere we take advantage of where we live....sometimes the greatest adventures are in our front yards...and a few in the back take care, Donna |

Congratulations on the anniversary - in this day and age - that's a whopper!
![]() Traditional 30th wedding anniversary gifts have a theme of Pearls.Apparently the pearls of Kentucy are famous, and they're the official gemstone of the State! https://www.uky.edu/KGS/rocksmn/pearl.htm Here's a recent article ![]() 'the most valuable pearls in America are from Kentucky'!https://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive...CF&oref=slogin What a great combination of remembering the anniversary and Kentucky, for your partner to give you some Kentuckian freshwater pearl jewellery (maybe with some diamonds thrown in! ![]() For events the 2 of you (or the family/friends) could enjoy together, here's a couple happening this weekend in Louisville https://www.abbeyroadontheriver.com/ (I love the beatles! ![]() https://www.kystatefair.org/ Of course for the anniversary night, you could try a local oriental restaurant (I'm sure there's some in your area with 'Pearl' in the name?).
