LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

New Year Resolutions

Posted 01-02-2009 at 09:35 AM by bibbi
I'm keeping some of my New Year's Resolutions and there are more to come!
1. Talk more with my family and friends.
2. Not be so hard on myself.
3. Try to make new friends.
4. Become rich *OK...that's a bit far fetched as they say, but, it's work a try!

*say... this is blog number 13 and 13 is one of my lucky numbers!*

I have three resolutions that I will post here:

The first is to run further and faster than I already can (I'm working toward being able to run a strong marathon in 2010 yes I know I am slow, but slow and steady progress doesn't get you injured)

The second is to make sure I don't get sick or injured so that I don't have to take a break from running.

The third is to really study, understand, and internalize the principles and the theorems of daoist ( mb) philosophy.

These are in no particular order of importance, just as they came to me....

Thanks for the opportunity to share

Peace Love Hope Faith and bancha
    SS

Bibbi, I must say that your resolutions are much nicer than mine.....

Personally, I don't make "resolutions". Life changes too quickly to worry about doing "this and that", but I rather care to just take each day as it comes and not throw too many expectations upon myself. It gives me a sense of freedom and in turn, makes me alot happier to just "go with the flow". :)

I'm kind of in-between - I don't make resolutions - for much the same reason as Tracy - but I do have "checklists" just so I don't go too far off track But it always seems like life has some trick up her sleeve to turn me in a different direction than what I planned, so any resolutions or checklists are pretty flexible - they change as fast as circumstances do.

This is a great idea for a Blog & Commentary, thanks BiBinut!

Well I don't usually make formal New Year Resolutions, but looking back and reflecting on last year:

    a) 20 months into (trying to achieve) a macrobiotic lifestyle; I'm more aware of how my body reacts to things, and I can tell it is happier with this, and so I think it will stay!

    b) Joined a gym - yes I actually joined it instead of paying a casual member's entrance fee - and I do miss it when I haven't been! Again, I hope this stays.

    c) Started volunteering - finally putting my time where my mouth is - early days still, but rewarding!

    d) Managed to save enough to ditch the old jallopy and get myself a new car - finally no excuses for not visiting afar friends - hope to do some serious catching up on that this year!

    And what of this year?
Well I've got my 'ideas' but I don't want to verbalise them yet, I'd rather 'walk the walk' than 'talk the talk'!

EDIT - I don't think this is the right forum to espouse views on the deaths of Israelis and Palestinians!

Since this is bibbinut's blog topic, it's up to her to decide if she wants this topic to take a turn somewhere she maybe didn't intend for it to go. She has the power to deny or approve comments on her own blog.

The blogs are free speech folks.

My apologies to bibbinut for hijacking her blog topic, which was not my intention, but felt it necessary to clear the air before bad feelings start. As we all know, politically charged discussions ( not to mention religious ones ) can get volatile on mb's.
However, if you wish to start your own blog discussion on your own political/religious views, that's totally up to you. But be warned, doing so you do it at your own risk and to all...please DO NOT run to the mods if you allow a comment on your blog that upsets you and starts a fight with another member.
    Forwarned is forearmed.
As I said, the forum is structured but the blogs are not.
Blogs are a place to let *every* member vent, whail, discuss, whatever and whenever they like.

Again sorry bibbinut...here's your blog back :)

If I might add my two cents worth I think we just all need to make sure we're on the same page - so both make sure our posts are clear as to what we're talking about and that we don't make assumptions about a post before we comment. Makes for a more peaceful existence all around

Nacky - That's hilarious! The whole world (may be not US media?) is headlining the conflict in Gaza, but when you mention Israel, you're (of course!) referring to something else, which you don't bother to reference or expand on in your comment, just expect everyone to know what you're talking about!

BiBiNut - v sorry you're lovely positive blog got hijacked! After this post, I won't comment again on this subject here.

I guess (for us all?) it might be time for us each to turn the blog moderation on again?

EDIT - there's a facility for commentators to edit their messages. I would be most happy to edit this and my previous one if Nacky wishes to expand her comment for clarification. Peace and best wishes all!
