LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Default Cahoots: will it ever be on DVD?

Hi you all!

Some 11 years ago I went from the Netherlands to the Chech Republic (Pilzen) to see "Cahoots". Dirks own screenplay and I think directors-debut. I had somehow emailed him (through his then website) that I would be there.

Getting there, we were met by someone from the whole event: If we were the fans from the Netherlands...? Dirk wasn't able to be there because one of his boys was ill. He was very sorry, we did get his appologies and all.... But he had made sure we (my husband and I) were treated as VIPs. We got the best seats in the house, tickets for other movies shown on the 2 day film-event and more. Don't know if he still remebers and everytime I meet him (6 times now...) I forget to ask...

So Dirk if you read this....??? (you know... I am the crazy girl who met you in London backstage of "Dick Wittington", who won your signed poster on Ebay from FACTS 2011 and whose 6 year old daughter drew you that amazing picture of a surten King Rat....)

Anyhow... I was wondering whether Cahoots will ever be released on DVD. Seem to forget to ask him everytime... so Dawg: mayby you can ask him somehow??

Be aware that downloading movies or music without paying for them (unless the artist/studio has released it that way) is called Piracy. It is illegal, and we are opposed to the practice.

And yes, that's the official position at DBC.

That is why I asked if it will be released on DVD (prefab with Dutch subtitles haha)
I don't do downloading/ piracy etc (I am nog Johnny Debb...) and watching a movie from a small computer-screen is not as entertaining as watching it from a big TV-screen.

So when you even come across Dirk, Dawg, would you mind asking?

I've been wondering about this, too. It's not uncommon for a movie to go straight to DVD, so why not this one?

PS. Dawg, check the dates....LOL

Yes, I would very much like to see Cahoots on DVD too. Never saw it before, only heard of it. I do hope it will get released.
Oh wow, Zilfstar. You've met Dirk already a couple of times. That's so awesome !!! I think it was really sweet of him to make sure you were treated as VIP's when he couldn't make it himself. Being a parent myself, I can understand that he needed to be with his sick son. From what I've read so far, he seems to be a genuinely nice person. I'd so love to meet him one day

Whoops! It was last on this list and I bought a copy but the movie has disappeared from the list. I checked the movie first on it's own and several copies were available, the prices ranging from $4 to over 50. They've been snapped up. Glad I bought one before I posted this!

Okay, I'm really pissed about this. At Alibris I did a search for Cahoots. Several copies came up with different prices. There was also another movie by that name so i searched Dirk Benedict. Several movies came up and last on the list was Cahoots. With His name on it. I checked the Add to my Cart button, ordered another movie and checked out.

After I placed the order I went back to look at the list of Dirk movies they had and Cahoots was missing. I assumed it was because there was only one copy by the seller and that was why it was removed.

Today I got the movie and it is the wrong Cahoots, A Mario Bobino Film about two friends. I have fired off two messages to Alibris as there is no excuse for this.

After I posted here the link for Alibris I went back there later and all the Cahoots were gone. I hope the buyers got the right movie.

Did I say I'm really pissed about this?

Well I'd say you have ever right to be pissed off! I would be too. Is there any chance you'll get the right one?

I don't know Little One, I doubt it. I had a similar experience when I tried to buy the Thirteenth Floor from Amazon. There's another movie by that name and that was what I got, though not what I ordered. Some mischief-makers out there.

It gets worse. Today I received Blue Tornado that I also bought from Alibris. I wondered why it was taking so long to get to me. It came from SWITZERLAND! And won't play on my TV.

The seller was AwesomeBooksUSA. They didn't mention a code. So wouldn't one assume that it would actually play in the USA? So far I haven't heard from Alibris, though they may be in shock at my language in the four messages, no five, that I sent to them. And they richly deserved.

What ???? That is completely unfair !!! You really should keep writing to them. And if that doesn't work, isn't there anywhere else you can turn to with your complaint?

Well, I've received some answers. Here is the one from Alibris about CAHOOTS:

***I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your order! I’ll issue you a full refund. Please allow a few days for the credit to appear on your account.

There's no need to return this item to us--please feel free to keep it, or donate it to a local library if you don't need it. Unfortunately, we're not able to send out replacement copies so I encourage you to return to our site at https://www.alibris.com to find another copy and place a new order.***

The statement that came with the movie said Cahoots, Dirk Benedict. And they would have a copy of that. At least my money is being returned. They don't have any more copies of it and I don't think I would trust them again anyway, though it's wise to send the seller a question about the item before you buy, which I didn't do this time.

Also I had an email from Awesome Books regarding BLUE TORNADO:

***Thank you for your email.

We sincerely apologise for any disappointment caused.

It is never our intention to send out an item with an inactive code. Clearly this item slipped through our quality control processes when it should never have been listed for sale. Unfortunately we are unable to check every code individually and we rely on our suppliers to provide us with working items. Once again we would like to apologise for this.

A full refund has been issued to your account, including postage and packaging. As a small gesture of goodwill from our side, please keep the item rather than returning it to us.

Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of any further questions.***

You can tell they aren't American; they spell apologize with an 's'. I told them that I wanted my money returned and for them to pay the return postage on the items. Neither of them thought enough of what they sold to do that, however, there is more. The return postage would have been about half of what they charge and they don't want to go into that.

So I have two DVDs that I didn't order. One I surely don't want and the other is useless. At least I get my money back.

Just finished reading the article and I loved it. I will always admire Dirk for his ability to express his own opinion no matter what. It takes great courage and he is a big example to me. Until recently, I had a big lack of courage on that part ... I'm gradually learning now
I love the part where he talks about his writing. You see, I love to write myself and I can completely understand what he's talking about. I'm not actually sure myself whether it's a gift or a talent or whatever to be able to write something, but I do know about the Inner Voice.
Thanks so much for this link. I truly loved this article So at least you've got a refund. That's a start. But I wouldn't buy anything from them ever again.

Got a full refund. And a long letter of apology. They said this is not a normal situation for them and I believe them as they wouldn't stay in business long doing this kind of thing. Also, I have bought from them before over the years and this never happened. But I think I will stick with moviesunlimited, if possible, for movies. It seems safer.

I just ran across something I hadn't heard before on YouTube even thought it's years old.

From Keith Carradine:
Uploaded on Sep 16, 2011
I wrote this as the end title song for the film "Cahoots".
Dirk Benedict, who directed the film, was instrumental in producing this track.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIWXtPTGvpE

I really like the song, and love his voice.

The movie, CAHOOTS, is still here:
