LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Talking Dirk's Comic Book

Hi, all!

I'm playing catch-up here - I've been fighting the flu, if you must know - but thanks to Ojai22 and Pinar and everyone else who's been so kind as to forward me Dirk stuff they've found, I've fallen way behind in sharing.

But I'm super-grateful to them, and to anyone and everyone who brings these things to me so that I can pass them along!

You all know about the comic book series "Dirk Benedict in the 25th Century", right? The one Dirk helped write? Well, Blue Water Comics has just released the 3rd installment. Here's the link to Comic Book Resources page:

https://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...eview&id=25999

It's available through Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...e+25th+Century

Or through your local comic shop (Comic Book Resources can help find you a local shop if you don't know where one is).

If you get them (or have them), let us know what you think!

I am
Dawg

I have the #2 on Kindle, but unfortunately missed out on #1. These have that old comic flair that I enjoy and hold up to the Original Battlestar Galactica comics that I may or may not still have. (They could be in my storage unit.) My preference would be print but storing such gems is hard to do. When I have the opportunity to get to a comic/gaming store I will see if I am able to acquire the #1 with help from some gurus there.

As I read this, I realize what nerd I am.

Well, I found options for the print copies available for order through Comic Flea Market and all bound into a graphic novel as well. https://www.comicfleamarket.com/

All are available on digital download at https://www.comixology.com

The graphic novel is available on Kindle along with Dirk's other books.

His book Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy and Then We Went fishing I have found here in Belgium.
Now I'm looking for the comic books but can not find or buy in bookstores.
Is there anyone who lives in Belgium and has the comic books?

Ursula, have you tried on-line? I know the publisher (Blue Water Comics) has a web presence, and these are being sold through several on-line stores (including Amazon).

John, I've tried using the Blue Water Comics website. You can order them there but when I click the link I get an error message. Through the Amazon appears to be successful. Thanks for the tip

I found the comic books here:

https://www.comixology.com

But they're all digital. I don't want digital. Don't they come in print form? So you can hold them in your hands and turn the pages? I like turning pages. . . .

Hi Ursula!

Hi ojai22, I apparently was a little too enthusiastic. Indeed, it is all digital and I also prefer a real book that I can hold in my hands. So I will have to continue my search. If I find a website where you can order a book I'll let you know for sure.

Wish everyone a nice day

Thanks, Ursula.

I haven't found any "actual" comic books either. Perhaps John could tell us if they exist in paper form. . . .🌷

It's funny - when I saw this I'd just made an appointment to have some work done to my truck. Right across the street from a comic book shop I know... The place has been around for years - my old neighborhood, in fact, and was there before we moved years ago...

Anyway, I talked to the owner, and he's familiar with the publisher, and said they haven't seen a hardcopy comic from them in several years. So it looks like the comic is available as an on-line download only.

The next step is to contact the publisher - which I'm doing - to see what the story is at their end - whether it is download-only or if hardcopy issues are being produced. I'll let you know what I hear.

And I've heard back from the publisher. Really nice guy - and he sent me copies of the covers. I'll attach them as soon as we figure out why the forum won't let me upload...

Hard-copy editions ARE available, through ComicFleamarket.com (HERE).

And I did a search for Dirk's comics: https://www.comicfleamarket.com/searc...=Dirk+Benedict. If the link works, they should be right at the top of the page.

And they do ship internationally.

You've got them all? I wish I had. I've tried using the link that John has shared to order, but the price is in a currency other (we have the euro as currency). Maybe last time I did something wrong? So I did not succeed. This week, try again

I'm not positive, but I think if you use a credit card, when the charge is made the bank will convert the US dollars to euros. I know that's what happened when I traveled in Canada a few years ago (neighbors we might be, but Canada is still a foreign country).

You might talk to someone at your credit card company or the bank you have the card with to see.

Yes, Ursula, I got all four! You can order all four of them as one book if you choose. I can't remember the last time I read a comic book, probably when I was 10 years old, but here I am reading comic books. What fun!

Here is something I found at the site, under Store Policies. They mention delivery outside of the U.S.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! After moonlustere posted this we had severall posts about finding the URL for actual comic books and the link was here all along. This was before John tracked it down and posted it. I would ask where was my head but then I would have to ask where was everyone else's, too.

Thanks, moonlustere.

😴 🙈 💤

Now, when is the next one due, and how often does a new one appear?

It's a limited run series, kiddo - and I believe the 4th issue was the final installment.

They do have comics based on other folks, you know. Adam West and Bill Mumy, among others.

Oh, dear God!
I ordered these back in 2015! But my pusher (comic pusher! ) never got them! I had assumed that they were either delayed or maybe canceled! Now I see that they actually released 4! Think I'm going to be serious mad at him! I told him that if he couldn't get them to let me know so I could try and find them on amazon or somewhere else!

Off to go pestering him about them...
