LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Default MacroMonth - The Blog

A challenge was made and accepted, agreements finalized, accords reached.

Ludlum'sDaughter14 and I have challenged each other to a month of eating according to the principles of Macrobiotics - and blogging about it so others can share our experiences.

We're 2 days into it, so we've already got a couple posts on board. Join us - follow us as we discuss what we know, learn more of what we don't, and document what happens.

This is going to be fun!!

It's been a week and we're still going strong. Thanks for your support, guys!

We just posted about Yin and Yang (and I think we each had fun writing our respective parts), so feel free to check that out!

Very much enjoyed reading the blog and just read the one about rice.
Funnily enough, just made two cups worth of long grain brown rice today and it will be gone by tomorrow evening

I just went over and read your essay on Wordpress about Fast and Slow. You say youíve been easing into MB for the last couple of years.

When I returned to this site in Oct. 2013, I had decided to do MB seriously and was looking for others to talk to about getting started and found the place literally deserted, except for the Con thread. Since I had no one to talk to, I decided to write what I was doing and talk it out to myself, and with myself. At that time I thought you were MB, and wondered why you said nothing about what I was doing and writing, except now and again you would leave a comment that you like rice and quinoa, too, or something like that.

So you didnít join in my conversations and postings because you were not a kindred spirit? Thatís okay, at least you finally made it. And now that youíve gotten into it more, how do you feel about this post now? Have you reached this place:

I keep pointing this out to people because it was such a surprise to feel so good - from food. I think I still havenít gotten over it.

So welcome to MB.

No, I wasn't all the way there yet. In 2014 I was familiar with the principles, all right, and trying - but kept hitting roadblocks and easy reasons to put off taking the next steps; switching from processed grain and cutting down on sugar was comparatively easy - except for well-meaning friends and family who continued to press hamburgers and chicken and chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cups into my hands. And who was I to offend them by saying "no"?

Of course, I'll never admit that I didn't put up too much of a fight. And equally of course, I know now that was my own addictions talking. I may even have considered myself MB then, but what I wouldn't have realized at that time was that it was only an intellectual designation... I certainly realize it now. I no longer worry about offending people - but I must admit the judgmental looks and derisive snorting get old fast, even when I remember they're addicts, like I used to be.

So to answer your question, yes, I'm there - at least, at the threshold. I haven't felt this good in forever, and - as you'll see in the post we're publishing tonight - much more at peace with myself than I ever have been.

Although revenge is not out of the question.
