The last two days we hit the mid 40s (F) - snow melted like hot butter, grass showing all over

Today's forecast: "SNOW... POSSIBLY MIXED WITH SLEET... IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA BETWEEN 11 AM AND 1 PM. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL BECOME ALL SNOW EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AND COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES AN HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE... ALONG WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 10 INCHES ARE LIKELY BY THE TIME THE SNOW TAPERS OFF THIS EVENING."

I'm on my way, Lucia! Beware!

12:30 - we're now in the midst of a mammoth thunder and lightning storm - have to admit - there is nothing neater than that!

I totally understand Ostarella! We have been in the deep freeze again....-36 celcius with the wind chill....brrrrrrr! We had a lot of snow, too! They say the temperatures will warm up, but more snow next week......do take care, Spring is almost here!
Hugs from me to you!

Gosh! That Winter seems relentless in your areas in the world! I do not want to brag, but we´re expecting 15 degrees C (about 59 F) coming Sunday .... Snowdrops are blooming all over the place ...

But now for something completely different: I finally registered with the Chamber of Commerce (and the inevitable tax department) today, so now I'm officially in business! Also got my first (and rather substantial) client!

All in all, it's been quite hectic these past few weeks (and will remain so for the next month or so). At the moment I'm dead tired but also as you can imagine a very pleased person! Have a great weekend everyone!

Congratulations Asmay! I wish you all the best in your new business. It sure sounds like things are looking good for you.....hope the weather keeps that way, too! Let me know when the tulips come up...I miss that from when I lived in Ottawa, Canada! Every May we have the tulip festival and they are beautiful to see. They are my favourite flower.
Take care and HUGS to you and everyone else.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Tell me about it. I need to have a serious talk with Mother Nature.
We had a blizzard yesterday.

Thanks! Actually, the tulip bulbs are growing like crazy; the first green bits are already coming through the soil. Around here, (i.e. near the seaside which is a bit warmer) the tulip season is from mid March (early varieties) till beginning of May. I'll let you know when they're blooming!

Btw sorry about the snow and blizzards. Bet you can't wait till Spring is here,

LOL - I was quite impressed with the hardy determined tourists in London at the weekend. The Londoners were all buttoned up in boots, gloves and heavy jackets but there were a few vacationers insisting on wearing their holiday shorts as they walked around town!

EDIT - PS I'm well, and hope you've all had a happy weekend!
Anne - sorry to read about your friends being in hospital, I'm sure seeing you helped her. This woman at work was raving on about her boss who had come to visit her everyday in hospital, and it had really touched her, so I'm sure every visitor your friend gets is welcome!

Deebee, I'm sure the tourists weren't spanish tourists..Here normally is more warm. Perhaps from Germany or Russia.. I've cold at 15º, so..I imagine if I come to London I would be in boots, gloves and heavy jackets and more and more clothes up.

Asmay, congratulations for the business!!! Well that it's going up!!

Sharon, Ostarella, Anne, brr...What cold you've there!!! My sister explained these days for mail that this year is much warm in Colorado. A few snow, not much cold and yesterday they were at 23ºC . Here we've a maximum in 15ºC. Strange year...Take care, please and I hope snow is going out. Soon is spring.
This next Thursday here are saying the winter is coming...buahhh We're warm now..Well, patience.

Lucia, thanks so much for explain. I'm sure Brasil is now in a beautiful summer landscape. A big kiss too for you!!

Petra, Karin, Jules, how are you??

Su, I miss you. I'm thinking of you.
Adri, Sara, the same for you two. How the things are going?

Have a nice day for all!
Esther.

Congratulations Anne!
Good luck with your new position! I hope you can make it also, it would be great to meet you.
I sure hope that nothing happens and Dirk has to cancel, as we are going just to see him. It would be a lot of money spent for a dissapointment.
I will be keeping my fingers crossed, ok!
Take care and be careful with all this crazy weather we are having across the country.
Hugs to you, Sharon

Hello my friends!
Tomorrow my country celebrates International Women's Day.
I would like to congratulate all women of this place.
I could not forget those special men like our dear Dirk, who plays very well, the role of being father and MOTHER at the same time!
To all: peace, love, health and joy of living!

Hi everyone!
I hope it was a nice weekend for everybody! We are getting our new tub surround today! Yeah!
It is a cold blustery day here! We are heading back into the deep freeze of -23 temperatures this week.
I really wish Spring would just pop out one day!
There will be a fair amount of snow to melt when that happens; I hope there won't be too much flooding for some people.
Anyway, have a great Sunday and take care all!
Hugs xoxoxoxox

I just noticed the clock on my computer was an hour ahead of the rest of my clocks Something tells me that when that's the only way I realize daylight savings time has started, I need to pay more attention to the "outside world"

I hope all the ladies here on DBC enjoyed International Women's Day! My husband made dinner today.....very nice, however, it is not out of the norm for him to do that....our new tub surround is in, it's beautiful and bright!
I wonder if there is an Internation day for men? Does anyone know?
It sounds though, like the men at this site are deserving of a day for them, too.
Anyway, lots to do before everyone goes back to regular routine tomorrow, so have a great Monday everyone....big hugs to all!

Hi to all!
It's still very cold here...we set a record today in Edmonton....-42 this morning....brrrrrrr..that's cold!
Today has been a bitter/sweet day for me...it is my Dad's birthday, but it's the first one since he passed away last June...so it is filled with great memories but a little sadness as well.
I spoke to my brothers, so that helped a lot.
Time has done wonders, though!
I kept busy baking all day!
I hope everyone is in good health and had a great day!
Hugs to everyone!

Question Sunny and cold

HI EVERYONE
It's sunny and cold where I am.
Was at my Aunt's yesterday. She doesn't have a computer.
We went into some antique stores and other really nice art shops.
I'm enjoying my time off before I start my new job.
I got a really nice picture frame.
I'm making some new avatars for my friends here.
No. I haven't forgotten.
You'll be getting them today.
Hope everyone is doing fine and their loved ones and pets.

HUGS
