LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

An amazing picture, Lucia, thanks for sharing!

It might be nothing special for the Canadians here or Ost, but in my neck of the woods we are not used to a lot of snow and an inch is enough to cause chaos on the roads. Now...it has been snowing here on and off for a week, with no thawing weather in between - and for us this IS unusual!

That's about 12 inches of snow and I love it! Okay, I admit that we don't have to clear the footpath outside, and that mostly hubby has taken care of the bit from our entrance to the gate, but still. It's a winter wonderland and if it would stop snowing long enough now for me to go and take some pictures without getting the camera wet, then it would be perfect! (I cheated and took the pic above through the living room window )

Winter is beautiful - as long as you don't have to go outside!

Oh, I'm going outside - just not with the camera when it is snowing The fresh, crisp air is wonderful. Forecast tonight said permanent frost for the next week, so the snow won't melt yet. Yay!

Yeah, with annoying frequency - happens this time every year.

Thank you, my amigas! I had a very good day - topped off with fresh Dungeness crab and a wee bit of Frangelico....

Even though I had to work.

Muito obrigada - Thank you!

I am
Dawg

Here's pictures of my yard today, after yesterday's snow and wind:

https://s186.photobucket.com/albums/x...anuary%202010/

And to think those sidewalks were clean the day before

High today 2F (-16C), high tomorrow 5F (-15C) but a warm up due midweek to mid-20sF (around -4C). Aren't we lucky?

Awww, poor Ost! I'm feeling with you, my friend, we've got the same here at the moment. 12 inches of snow, -10°C and no end in sight. We never had Blizzards before, but the forecast has announced one for the weekend, beginning tonight. Don't know what to expect and how things will turn out

It's getting dangerous outside. The snow on the trees is so heavy that there is a good chance for branches to break off and giant icicles are hanging from many roofs, waiting to fall on pedestrians. Very unusual winter for northern Germany, indeed.

In the UK it's been one of the coldest winters ever here, where I live will be around -2 tonight, which does not sound much but we hardly have snow chains and snow ploughs in use anymore as generally they are not needed most winters.
The whole country is almost at a virtual standstill as people are not used to such cold weather here; Some supermarkets are running out of food, schools are closed, most commuters cannot go to work (me included!) and hospitals are only dealing with the most pressing emergencies!
With any luck it will hopefully be a bit warmer in Blighty next week! (Fingers crossed!)

Beautiful pictures!

It's just wet here. Part of our fence blew down in the windstorm we had yesterday and the day before. I guess we replace it sooner than planned...

And thank you, Sharon, Flash, and Christy!!!
