Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Exclamation All-Con, Dallas, Texas

I've been seeing this posted all over Battlestar-related sites on Facebook. All-Con in Dallas next month is having a rather comprehensive cast reunion. Terry Carter (Tigh), Herbert Jefferson Jr. (Boomer), Sarah Rush (Rigel), Jack Stauffer (Bojay), and Anne Lockhart (Sheba), who will be there Saturday and Sunday.

Even Laurette Spang-McCook (Cassiopeia) is making a rare convention appearance(!) on Saturday and Sunday.

Wouldn't it be great if Dirk could be there, too? Kind of make it complete, wouldn't it?

He's going. He'll be there Saturday and Sunday.

I hope some vids will pop up on YouTube after the con for the less fortunate of us. *hint, hint*

Whoever will go there, wishing you lots of fun!!

You read my mind. I was hoping that the Q&A would be posted on YouTube.

Just a quick PSA that in the recent past, budgets were evaluated and tickets were impulsively bought, so I will happen to be at the aforementioned location on the aforementioned weekend, and I will come prepared to attempt to record the momentous occasion for posterity (or at least the Internet).

My life inbox is running full at the moment between hectic work and sleep and extracurricular activities, so I may not be very responsive to comments on this topic, especially since I need to keep my emotions at a satisfactory level for focusing on detail work through next Friday. I will try to give a concise but satisfactory report complete with evidence that will hold up in court at the conclusion of these proceedings.

So let it be written; so let it be done.

There was a partial post of the bsg reunion panel. It was good for the part that was posted. I'm hoping the entire panel will be posted at some point on bsg.

Saturday's panel was recorded in its entirety, and I'm seeing links on a few of the Facebook groups; I'll get those links posted here after work today.

A good time was had by all, I think!

I'll upload the 1/2-2/3 of the panel I recorded to YouTube once I figure out how to get it off my old iPhone... But for now, pictures and notes!

I was at the con just for Saturday. I sat in on a panel with Sarah Rush and the group panel, and then I got to talk to everyone in the cast except Terry Carter because I ran out of time. Here's the SparkNotes summary:

- Sarah Rush - She's been doing fewer movies/shows/theatre and mostly doing a lot of commercials, which she loves because that gives her time to spend with her daughter, who's a teenager. In her panel she talked about getting the role of Rigel because she took her lines so seriously while she said them (things like "Launch when ready" and "100 microns and closing"). She also said that for one job she did, when it went overseas and she got the check from it, the amount was the exact amount of money she needed to complete the adoption process for her daughter. Really cool.

- Anne Lockhart - I didn't have a lot of time to talk with her because it was getting close to time for the panel to start, but we did talk a little about her roles in sci-fi. I mentioned I saw she'd been in E.T., and she told me she can still remember the voice-over line you can hear her saying in the medical scene - then she quoted it to me verbatim. She thought it was funny out of all the lines she's ever said in her career, that random one stuck with her.

- Herb Jefferson, Jr. - We were talking about penmanship and how his school had really emphasized it, and he talked about what he said he likes to call "perishable skills," which are things that you have to keep practicing and doing to stay good at or to get as good as you can be, and how that applies to acting as well as many other things in life.

- Jack Stauffer - He told me he likes being a director in theatre, not because he wants power/control, but because he loves helping other actors learn to let go of their fear about if they're getting everything right. He said that only when you let go can you reach that level of excellent performance beyond what you ever imagined you could do. He also mentioned that he and Richard Hatch were close (they worked together on "All My Children" and many other shows/productions) and gave a nice tribute to Richard during the panel.

- Laurette Spang - She told me she's a writer and she's currently writing a book with her son, and we commiserated over #writer problems (the struggle is real, folks). She's also really excited about how her daughter Molly is currently in the shows "Last Man Standing" and "Good Trouble," which sound like great shows - I'm really gonna have to start watching actual non-Netflix TV. She mentioned she still has a place in her heart for her character Cassiopeia. In the panel she had some great stories about Fred Astaire too and how, in a culture of Hollywood no-shows, one time he literally called her up just to let her know why he couldn't make it to the Christmas party she'd sent him an invitation to.

Ha, you knew I'd save the best for last, didn't you.

- Dirk Benedict - Dirk was very friendly and positive, as usual. He had some DVDs of a few of his movies with him, including a Blu-Ray version of Sssssss! with interviews with him and Heather Menzies that aren't on the original DVD (heads up for anyone who's looking to add to their movie collection!). We talked about his movie Cahoots! and the cultural/political drama related to what he was trying to discuss with it. I also got to introduce him to my dad who was with me (and who introduced me to the A-Team), and we got a nice picture together with him, which I'll share below. BTW, much of the panel includes Dirk cracking jokes, so you may enjoy that - I promise to upload the panel and share a link as soon as I get a chance!

And finally, pictures...

So great pics! And may I say that you look absolutely adorable LD14, especially in that outfit!

I can't wait for your video, much appreciated. Also can't wait for John's links. I haven't found any videos in the www myself so far…

Dirk looks absolutely fantastic, very well and relaxed. I fear the jet lag might take a bit of a toll on him when he comes to the con in Germany, I wouldn't be surprised to see a tired Dirk in June... But even tho I repeat myself… he looks great on your foto. And happy, looks like he enjoyed his time very much.

I also gotta say cosplayers fascinate me for all the work they put into their outfits. I could never pull that off for lack of creativity and talent. That Cylon looks absolutely fantastic! Or is it actually an original outfit for the BSG reunion?

I'm also looking forward to seeing LD14's video.

The people of Battlestar Raven/Battlestar Galactica Fan Club also recorded Saturday's panel, in 2 parts. I also saw a link to a recording of Sunday's - but do you think I can find it again? - which was cool because they apparently talked about getting together Saturday night for dinner at Anne's place. I'll try to find it, too.

So, anyway, the Battlestar groups' videos are posted on Facebook, so here are the links:

Thank you so much, John. It was a treat to watch the videos (even tho I had trouble to understand most of it). It's so good to see them all together again and still goofing around with each other. And Dirk clearly enjoyed to be in the middle of the two ladies.
